On a personal note ...

While I’m a writer by trade, I’m also a quote and vintage collector, nature lover, Disney fan, seasoned traveler, and forever learner by heart. In addition to reading fiction (mostly mysteries) and non-fiction (anything that intrigues me), I run a vintage shop on Etsy and have a booth at a local Antique Mall. I’m known as Nana by two delightful grandkids, Mom by a wonderful son and daughter-in-law, and best friend by an amazing husband.

My path to an Act II career as a writer ...

I was born in Montana, raised and college educated in California, attended graduate school in Michigan, raised a family and enjoyed a successful corporate career, including as a Vice President of Communication for a multi-billion-dollar company in Pennsylvania, before leaving to pursue a life-dream to work and write from the Rocky Mountains, first in northwestern Montana, and now along the Front Range in Colorado.
My Act I career involved roles in human resources, culture development, and communication. In my Act II career, I spent a decade turning my real-world experience into non-fiction writing of business and career books and articles, as well as speaking and consulting on the topics of leadership, trust, and culture development.
But I've always known that someday I wanted to write fiction, too. That point arrived during the pandemic pause, which provided the catalyst for rethinking my writing and its purpose, sparking my desire to move toward fiction where fictional characters can raise issues and challenge situations in ways non-fiction typically doesn’t. It also offered me time to study the craft, take online classes, hone skills, and work on my first cozy mystery, which I hope becomes a launch pad for many more.
