Where do you start a series? When I discovered Jane K. Cleland’s Josie Prescott Antiques Mystery series a couple years ago, there were already a dozen or so books.
The question was should I go back and read the first? Jump to the latest? Or start in the middle? Since they’re stand-alone mysteries I could start anywhere.
But if I jumped in, I felt I’d lose the character development and tangential elements that give the series more connection. At least for me. So, I started with book one. This month I finished book fourteen and enjoyed every story. Now I’m hoping there are more on the way.
